The Arc is the world's largest community based organization of and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It provides an array of services and support for families and individuals and includes over 140,000 members affiliated through more than 850 state and local chapters across the nation. The Autism Society of the Black Hills
The Autism Society of the Black Hills hosts support group meetings every other month, an online support group, family summer camp, parenting classes, resources and referrals, advocacy and other services to families in the Black Hills area who are dealing with an autism-spectrum diagnosis. The Brain Injury Support Group of the Black Hills
The Brain Injury Support Group of the Black Hills invites individuals, family members, and professionals to attend their meetings the second Tuesday of every month from 6:15-8:00 p.m. in the Rushmore Room at Rapid City Regional Hospital. CDC Autism website has updated information on facts, screening, diagnosis, and treatments as well as statistics, research, and publications. Literacy Council of the Black Hills
Literacy Council of the Black Hills recruits and instructs tutors to provide one-on-one tutoring of adults and adolescents over 13 years old in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
